Inuyasha (Inuyasha Costumes?) was born of a dog-demon father and a human mother. Though he appears to be a teenager, in "Swords of an Honorable Ruler", which is not written by the author, it is revealed that he is over 200 years old. In addition, according to the official Inuyasha guide by Rumiko Takahashi, his appearance is equivalent to that of a fifteen-year-old boy. Inuyasha initially wanted to use the enormous power of the Shikon Jewel to become a full-fledged demon. Inuyasha has dog ears, claws on his fingers, sports a red garment called the Robe of the Fire-Rat and is always barefoot, which comes in handy when he has to scratch himself with his feet, the way a dog does.
