Most of the original characters in this game appear in the movie Bloodsport (the Great White Dragon).

Also in the movie 'City Hunter, Jackie Chan does a parody of the Street Fighter game.

In the song Fireball of Willow Smith in collaboration with the rapper Nicki Minaj, the last one in its verse mentions to the game saying "I'm the Street Fighter, call me Chun-Li" that means "I am a street fighter, call me Chun -Li Cosplay Shop
. It also refers to the game by adding in a part of the verse the phrase "cause 'I'm a fireball, hadouken!" Which in Spanish can be translated as "because I am a fireball, hadouken!".
